The Sabian HHX 15” Groove Hi-Hat Cymbals, Natural Finish deliver a funky feel combined with a simmering blend of retro tone and crisp definition. The HHX 15” Groove Hi-Hat features a medium top cymbal and a heavy bottom cymbal. The medium weight top provides a dark sound that suits a range of styles, producing clear stick definition and provides you full freedom when playing or improvising. The heavy bottom cymbal adds power and volume when playing open, alongside adding to your stability and overall play-ability.

The Sabian HHX 15” Groove Hi-Hats feature super-sized hammering and ‘Tone Projection’ which adds bite and a simmering response to your overall sound and makes grooving fun and easy; the 15” size adds a more buttery, relaxed feel when played, with a lower fundamental pitch than the 14”. Able to sit well in a range of styles, these hats give a great under-stick feel and leave room in the mix for the other instruments.

Features:

Unleash the darkness with the HHX Series
Sabian opened a new world of sound possibilities with the HHX series. From dark, musically rich tones to cutting, bright sounds, the HHX makes it easy to achieve your perfect sound, no matter what style of music you play. A combination of hand-guided machine hammering and hand-hammering is used to shape and for each cymbal, adding musicality, complexity and bright tone. Each individual cymbal is hand-tested and hand-weighed in the Vault by sound specialists, which is a vital process for shaping the sound and weight for the cymbals. The HHX cymbals are placed on a shelf to age after the construction process, which allows the active molecules to slow down and stabilize, maximising sound quality and play-ability.

All HHX series cymbals are complete with HHX ‘Tone Projection’. This innovative concept combines jumbo ‘tone projector’ hammering and other design elements resulting in hot, simmering sounds that can project through.

”Dave has a very acute sense of hearing and knows exactly what he wants from his cymbals. In addition to high-response sensitivity, he requested a specific degree of separation between the brighter high-end tones and the warmer low end, for a sound that was both warm and cool. He was very specific, and therefore our craftsmen were able to design Evolution to such high standards. We are extremely pleased with the results.” – Sabian Master Product Specialist – Mark Love

Bronze construction
The HHX Cymbal series features B20 bronze construction. This type of bronze is mainly made up of copper and tin and has a reputation for being difficult to work with. However, the expert craftsmanship at Sabian continually produce cymbals that provide versatile style to suit genres ranging from blues to rock. The in-house manufacturing allows Sabian to create a specific, unique design and to help drummers find their ideal sound.
